Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus is one of the main public health problems, due to its high prevalence, since it can affect people of any age, sex, social class and geographical area, causing alterations in their quality of life. The objective of the research was to determine the quality of life of older adults with amputations due to type II diabetes mellitus at the Dr. Rafael Serrano López Basic Hospital, La Libertad 2023. The methodology used in this research was quantitative, systematic, critical, reflective, non-experimental and controlled in order to discover new data that is required through the application of the Diabetes Quality Of Live (DQOL) instrument, sociodemographic data were attached. The instruments used were SPSS – 23 and Excel. The technique was the survey, whose population was 35 older adults, which corresponds to 100%, the sample applied was non-probabilistic. Inclusion and exclusion criteria will be applied. The results show that the quality of life of these patients is of a Medium level (52.33%), which does present physical complications at the foot level, which leads to amputations. It is concluded that the quality of life must be improved and actions established in the physical, social and psychological part.
