Abstract

The insufficiencies in the development of professional skills by the 2nd year students of the Turning specialty of the Vladimir Ilich Lenin Polytechnic of the Santiago de Cuba municipality, in the process of carving threads on the lathe, made it possible to describe and analyze the
insufficiencies in the development of professional skills by the students of the 2nd year of the Turning specialty of the Vladimir Ilich Lenin polytechnic of the Santiago de Cuba municipality, in the process of carving threads on the lathe considered essential for their subsequent professional performance with a high level of competitiveness. Said description and analysis will help to develop a set of actions to solve these shortcomings in achieving the training of a competitive technician capable of facing and solving the various problems that arise in all spheres of the industry to which they are going to face as a turner. The problem, on the other hand, arises from the concern of the researchers to make a diagnosis about the current situation of these insufficiencies from actions that promote the optimal preparation of the students in the sense of
their performance.
