Motivaciones y Percepciones de Estudiantes de Escuelas Insulares en Chile sobre la Educación STEAM.

Resumen
El artículo analiza las motivaciones y percepciones de los estudiantes de escuelas insulares en Chiloé sobre la educación STEAM (Ciencia, Tecnología, Ingeniería, Arte y Matemáticas). Se observa un alto interés por las actividades STEAM, especialmente aquellas que incluyen componentes prácticos y trabajo en equipo. Sin embargo, persisten estereotipos de género que limitan la participación femenina en áreas como la tecnología. A pesar de esto, la mayoría de los estudiantes reconoce la igualdad de capacidades entre niñas y niños en matemáticas y ciencias. La inclusión de actividades variadas y la promoción de un ambiente inclusivo son cruciales para fomentar la participación equitativa en STEAM. El estudio sugiere que la exposición temprana y el apoyo continuo son esenciales para aumentar la participación femenina en estas áreas, y destaca la importancia de estrategias educativas que desafíen los estereotipos de género y promuevan la diversidad y la equidad.
