Abstract

Primary Education constitutes one of the fundamental stages in terms of the acquisition and development
of potentialities in students, both in the cognitive dimension, as well as in the reflective-regulatory and
affective-motivational. Hence, it constitutes a challenge for education professionals, research and implementation of new strategies that favor the development of self-esteem in these schoolchildren. In
Cuba it is recognized that enhancing the self-esteem of schoolchildren means improving their chances of
success in their future personal and professional life, however the desired level is not achieved in primary
school, considering it pertinent to pose as a scientific problem: How promote positive self-esteem in sixth
grade students? The results offered are evidenced in a proposal of activities to enhance self-esteem in sixth grade students of the Juan Sigas Baro elementary school, from the unit of these activities in conjunction with the educational community.
