Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the social implications of the work of university professors, from the relationship that exists between the faculty and employers in the search for a competitive, innovative and sustainable university, taking into account what the obstacles will be. must face. From the above it is clear that for a university to last over time, it must involve all its academics, students and workers in the management of the quality of the services it provides and meet the needs of the present from various perspectives, In our opinion, the teacher's competitiveness is one of the most necessary, in order to protect his academic and educational prestige by projecting it into the future. The methods used were documentary analysis, systematization and historical-logic, among others, and as techniques, the interview. The main result is a list of the challenges faced by Latin American university professors to ensure the sustainability of their institution.

Licenciada en Educación Laboral, profesor Titular y Dr. C de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Educación de la Universidad de Oriente, en la carrera de Licenciatura Educación Primaria acreditada de Excelencia, Cuba.. Tiene más 30 años de labor e integra la planta académica de maestrías de Ciencias de la Educación, Investigación Educativa y la Especialidad de Postgrado en Docencia Psicopedagógica, de la formación doctoral, realiza tutorías, consultorías y participa en tribunales de pre defensa y defensa doctoral, en el tribunal de especialidad de exámenes mínimos doctorales y para cambios de categoría docente en la Universidad, es experta de la Junta de Acreditación Nacional  para la acreditación de diferentes programas académicos.
