Financial Education Programs Implemented in Latin America

Abstract

The analysis of the implementation of financial education programs both in Peru and Brazil, indicates that these helped to modify the pattern of expenses and behavior in the students. In the same way, teachers acquired greater awareness about saving and effective management of resources.
The objective of this article is to present an abstract of the financial education programs that have been implemented in Latin America in the last ten years, specifying its objective, entity that provided it and the population involved, and is part of the results of the project. "La educación financiera de los universitarios y el acceso a los créditos de la banca privada de la ciudad de Guayaquil” belonging to the University of Guayaquil. In Latin America where the public sector has the initiative in financial education, through the implementation of the National Financial Education Strategy. In Latin America, the countries that stand out for the amount of financial education programs applied are: Chile; Colombia and Mexico.
