Abstract

Cuban higher education, since its inception, has undergone major transformations in response to the changes operated within and outside the country, precisely in that direction, the mechanisms that make it possible to ensure, evaluate, accredit and certify the quality of the Institutions and their programs have been strengthened. The present investigation is oriented to solve the problem referred to the insufficiencies in the systematization of the culture of quality management in the processes of the Institutions of Higher Education (IES) of Santiago de Cuba, and specifically in the Universidad de Oriente (UO). It aims to socialize the systematized experiences in the self-evaluation processes, the external evaluation, the public quality certification and the follow-up to the improvement plan of the processes and programs, and their contribution to the 2030 Educational Agenda and to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The systematized aspects will be very useful to favor the improvement of all the processes that take place in the university community, in the 62 careers, the 31 master's programs, 7 postgraduate specialties and 15 doctorates, which are managed from their organizational units, which will contribute to work to maintain the category of Excellence, which this house of high studies holds, and to elevate the results to qualitatively higher levels.

    Licenciado en Educación Primaria, Especialista en Docencia Psicopedagógica, Doctor en Ciencias Pedagógicas y Profesor Auxiliar. Miembro del departamento de Pedagogía-Psicología y del Consejo Científico de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Educación. Actualmente es profesor de la Dirección de  Planificación, Evaluación y Archivo y Jefe de Departamento de Gestión de la Calidad de la Vice-Rectoría Primera de la Universidad de Oriente. Cuba. Participa en eventos científicos nacionales e internacionales, con diferentes publicaciones en revistas nacionales e internacionales asociadas a la especialidad Pedagogía.
