A Critical Look at Youth Unemployment in the City of Milagro

Abstract

The city of Milagro has been characterized as an area with extensive economic and social development. The constant economic and social crises through which the country is going through, have caused the sources of employment and jobs to decrease considerably, giving an increase in unemployment of people of working age and mainly young people. The lack of job opportunities and therefore unemployment is one of the most recurring problems in the city of Milagro. This structural phenomenon prevents raising the social and economic development of those affected, generated by the imbalance between labor supply and demand that exists in the market. Taking these elements into account, it is proposed as an objective to analyze the variables of unemployment in young people in the city of Milagro and its impact on the quality of life, which allows promoting institutional actions to reduce youth unemployment. Likewise, the methodology used was based on a case study, in which quantitative methods were used that will allow us to analyze and understand the behavior of the object of study.
