Competitiveness as a strategic foundation for economic development of Venezuela

Abstract
The present research sought to assess competitiveness as a foundation for economic development and its relevance within the economic development of Venezuela, from the public policy for the promotion of productive and industrial sectors. Through a qualitative study - documentary and descriptive, based on the analysis of the national development plan in its different versions from 2000-2023. Estimating that the Venezuelan economy has experienced significant changes since 1958, with different development models applied. Despite its potential and the oil contribution, economic growth has decreased, generating an economic depression that affects the quality of life of citizens and hinders the economic and social development of the country. As well as that economic competitiveness needs the collaboration of the State, Businessmen and Workers, with strategic planning to grow and diversify.
