Abstract

The present article deals with the challenges faced by professors of the higher education institutions nowadays, taking into consideration the demands caused by the constant development of the information and communication technologies, at the same time by the complexity of the different phenomena that are part of the daily life.
Having this as basic ground, the main guidelines in order to resize the functions of professors are established in the article , particularly those related to the teaching –learning process, and more specifically with the mentoring called to become a privileged space for interaction and growth of both , students and professors
