Abstract

The article presented introduces a look at community education, as an alternative for the preservation of appropriate free time practices in the Socapa community, from popular education. Its objective is to reflect on the use of popular education in the formation of the youth sector, with respect to the healthy and beneficial use of that time. Access to reality was possible through both qualitative and quantitative techniques, which revealed the lack of preparation to face the absence of free time spaces in the youth group, which allow them to carry out beneficial activities in their environment. Consequently, it is necessary to resort to community educational practices that encourage participation based on change.
