Abstract
This study analyzes the impact of music and theater on the emotional development of students in Ecuador, highlighting the need to integrate the arts into the educational curriculum. Currently, the focus on traditional academic subjects has relegated the arts, especially in schools with limited resources, restricting access to quality arts programs. The objective is to demonstrate the effectiveness of artistic activities and propose strategies for their implementation. A bibliographic review and qualitative analysis of testimonies from students and educators involved in artistic programs were carried out, identifying patterns and trends in their experiences. The results reveal that participation in activities such as music and theater provides multiple emotional benefits, such as stress reduction, improvement in emotional expression, development of empathy, confidence and resilience. Music allows emotions to be channeled, while theater fosters a safe space. The need for policies that guarantee equitable access to arts education, with adequate resources and continuous teacher training, is emphasized. This study highlights the value of the arts in integral development, strengthening emotional and social skills essential for good.
